Ok. I heard the feedback. Ya’ll LOVED part 1 and part 2 of this series. I am here to offer you three more games you can play during family photo sessions. Please leave me a comment or send me a message and let me know how they work for you during your own sessions!
Sneak Attack (children ages 3-12): Pull the parents aside and create a secret signal. Whisper that when you give the cue, they’re to sneak up on the kids and unleash some playful surprise. Think tickles, hugs, spins – anything cozy and not too crazy! Just make sure the kiddos stay facing the camera.
Now, set the stage for a picture-perfect moment with the kids. You can let them in on the surprise or keep it hush-hush – your call.
Once everyone’s in place, flash the signal and start clicking! The element of surprise for the kids and the adults being the rule breakers is what makes this game genuinely fun!
Red Light Green Light (children ages 3-12): This one is pretty self explanatory. We have all played this childhood favorite, but when playing for photos I suggest pulling the camera AWAY from your face and shoot “blindly.” This way you can make good eye contact with the kiddos!
Booty Bump (all ages): When your clients are in a nice row or group, tell them that on the count of three they are going to booty bump each other. This always gets the biggest laughs from the adults!
Are you loving my tips? Do you want to know more about how I photograph clients, how I edit and how I stay digitally efficient and organized? Please reach out! I would love to schedule a 1:1 mentoring session with you!
