The holiday season is here, and Oklahoma City is bursting with picture-perfect spots to capture the magic of Christmas. If you’re planning a fun outing with family or friends, these festive locations offer the ultimate backdrop for your holiday photos. Here’s where to go for the top Christmas photo locations in downtown Oklahoma City.

2025 Downtown Oklahoma City Events for Beautiful Photos

I love events – here are a few of my favorite ways to get in the holiday season.

• Elf the Musical at the Civic Center – Nov. 18th – 23rd

1. Bricktown – Featuring the Beautiful Christmas Tree

The heart of Bricktown comes alive during the holidays with twinkling lights and, of course, the iconic Christmas tree. Situated in the heart of the district, this tree offers a classic holiday setting with nearby canal views, making it a must-visit for capturing the magic of the season. This year I photographed the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and I recommend it 10/10 for everyone! It was a great vibe and the crowds were just right – not too busy and yet everything felt exciting.

Photo Tip: Time your visit for dusk or early evening when the tree is fully lit but there’s still a bit of natural light for contrast.

2. Lights on Broadway

My favorite holiday OKC tradition transforms Broadway Avenue into a sparkling winter wonderland. Stroll along the beautifully lit streets and find unique light displays and charming storefronts that create perfect photo opportunities. My favorite shops are: Plenty Mercantile, Urbane OKC, Shop Good and Cargo Room. But there are so many more!

Pro Tip: Visit during one of the special Lights on Broadway event weekends for great shopping and restaurant deals, free activities for everyone (live music, balloonists, etc) and the shops stay open later!

In 2025, Lights on Broadway events will be held on Nov. 29th, Dec. 6th and Dec. 13th. Expect special entertainment, activities, decor and shopping deals.

3. The First National Center

Step inside this beautifully restored Art Deco landmark for an elegant and sophisticated photo backdrop. The stunning holiday decorations inside the lobby provide a luxurious Christmas aesthetic you won’t want to miss.

Pro Tip: The Nutcracker tea is fabulous to enjoy in the Great Hall!

4. Midtown Pop-Up Shops

Not only can you shop for unique gifts here, but the cheerful holiday décor also makes this a prime spot for photos. The colorful huts, twinkling lights, and festive displays offer a whimsical, cozy vibe perfect for seasonal portraits. Each week the shops change, so you can go every weekend and have a new experience! You can also purchase a live Christmas tree to take home too!

Pro Tip: Grab a cup of Katiebug’s hot chocolate (topped with homemade marshmallows) or The Big Friendly’s beer to make the experience a bit more fun!

5. Devon Ice Rink

Located in the Myriad Gardens, the Devon Ice Rink offers a festive outdoor setting surrounded by holiday lights. Whether you’re skating or simply enjoying the atmosphere, it’s a fun and dynamic location for action shots or cozy couple photos. My family has been to all the outdoor ice rinks, and Devon’s is the largest and most picturesque.

Photo Tip: Capture wide shots with the rink in the foreground and the twinkling lights and Colcord Hotel behind for a magical winter effect.

6. Miracle Pop-Up at Social Capital

This festive pop-up bar is a treasure trove of holiday cheer, with every corner decked out in over-the-top decorations. Whether you’re sipping hot cocoa or snapping a selfie under the shimmering lights, this is a playful spot for fun, creative holiday photos.

Pro Tip: Santa usually makes several appearances – go grab some free Santa photos!

• Tellers: Located in the First National Center, this restaurant is a stunning location for upscale holiday dining and sophisticated photos.
• Jones Assembly: Known for its lively holiday atmosphere, Jones Assembly is perfect for a mix of food, fun, and photo opportunities. Their indoor Christmas tree is one of the best in town.
• Miracle Pop-Up at Social Capital: It’s worth a second mention because the vibe is just that good for both drinks and festive snaps.
• The Colcord Hotel is so classy and their holiday decor feels elegant and tasteful. Book a meal at Flint (the restaurant inside the hotel) and feel like you are in NYC!
