If you are looking for variety, you cannot beat a Scissortail Park photo session in OKC. With its mix of skyline views, modern architecture, native gardens, and wide-open green spaces, this location delivers a full gallery of looks without ever feeling repetitive.
I love starting at the northern entrance by Spark restaurant—here the pathways are lined with blooms and you have a beautiful view of both the downtown OKC skyline and the convention center (the mirrored walls look beautiful in photos!)
From there, we head south toward the historic train depot. Along the way are native wildflower gardens, wide open fields, the beautiful pond and the wildflower hill. Making our way across the pedestrian bridge the train depot, ends with the most scenic sunset view of downtown! The reflection of the skyline in the water cannot be matched!
One of my favorite photo spots is the iconic Skydance Bridge—it gives every session an unmistakably Oklahoma City feel with its bold lines and dramatic presence. At dusk, the neon lights look fabulous in photos, especially in the walkway following the Skydance Bridge.
For families, ending our photos at the playground is highly recommended! The kids will love to play and I can get unique photos of your kids….. well, being kids!
After your Scissortail Park photo session, I suggest a post-session meal at either Spark or Social Capital – both have fabulous patios that are highly recommended on my Best Patios of OKC blog post
